Mirena Čalmić is the founder of TANGRAM LANGUAGE SOLUTIONS. Mirena obtained her Master’s degree in Languages and Cultures of East Asia at Ca’ Foscari University, Venice, Italy.

During her studies, she spent a year of additional specialization in China and Germany, at Capital Normal University in Beijing and Ruprecht Karl University in Heidelberg, respectively. She has worked for leading companies in Telecommunication, Tourism and Open Access Publishing, all while working as a translator, teacher and tour guide. The result of all these experiences was TANGRAM LANGUAGE SOLUTIONS.

Mirena is a member of the Association of Court Interpreters and Translators – STIP based in Rijeka where she also serves as Member of the Council. She is also a certified KUDO Interpreter and has completed the course “Infection Control and Industrial Safety for Medical Interpreters”. She is a member of the Association of Tourist Guides Liburnia from Opatija. Every year she attends a training for Chinese language teachers organised by the Confucius Institute at the Eötvös Loránd University and the Office of Chinese Language Council International Hanban in Budapest, Hungary.

Mirena regularly attends conferences, workshops and seminars that allow her to keep up with the latest trends in translation, teaching and tourism. Mirena collaborates with experienced and reliabale translators and experts from various fields so that she may offer the best service for your projects.

The tangram is one of the oldest and most famous puzzles in the world that originated in Imperial China during the Tang dynasty. The tangram is made of a square divided into seven pieces (one parallelogram, one square and five triangles) that can be arranged and rearranged to form particular designs.
